Roma Pony Club

Annual General Meeting    11 November 2010     7pm Maranoa Club

Who can come?
Anyone!  If you are interested in finding out more about Roma Pony Club,  want to meet existing members, or volunteer to help, you will be made most welcome.  You do not have to be a rider or have children (or grandchildren) who ride.

Do I have to be a member of Roma Pony Club?
To attend the AGM, no.  However, to sit on the management committee and/or attend rally days, yes you do. PCAQ (Pony Club Association of Queensland) affiliation is reduced for social ie non-riding, members.  Roma Pony Club offers single or family membership.

What happens at the AGM?
After various (short) reports are presented, all positions on the management committee are declared vacant.  Nominations are then received, voted on, and positions filled, and membership and agistment fees decided. After the AGM, there is a short management committee meeting.

What is the structure of the Management Committee?
The committee consists of a president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, chief instructor; and any or all of the following, canteen convenor, nominations secretary, rally-day coordinator, grants officer, PR & media liaison officer.  This year is the first time we are trying this approach ie members of the committee taking on specific roles.  The idea behind this is so that the work of the committee, and especially the secretary, is shared, and although the titles may look grand, the jobs themselves are not too onerous!

Where do I find out more about the Club?
Have a look at the various pages on this site.  FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) should answer most of your queries.  If you still need more information please do not hesitate to contact us.

When can I sign-on?
Updated forms and information will be available on this site after the AGM (Forms page).  We will also be holding a sign-on day early January so prospective members can come out to see our facilities and have a chat about what we do.  We will also hold a morning-tea for new members, which will be especially helpful for non-horsey parents!  Dates for these will be posted on this site and advertised in the Western Star.
